Solar Energy

April 2008
 - Sun Simulators for R&D and Test Laboratories ATEC Robotic obtained the patent for the SUN SIMULATOR for concentrated panels up to 1x1m.

March 2007
- Large Trackers ATEC Robotics signed the contract for the study and development of the largest tracker in Europe 150mq large to be installed at the Astronomical Observatory of Castelgrande. Four trackers will be installed and provided with the new concentrated modules designed by ATEC Robotics able to reach up to 34-36% efficiency. The tracker will be also equipped with the new low cost point and tracking controller also patented by ATEC Robotics. The plant will provide up to 208kW energy from the SUN to totally satisfy the power requirement from the observatory (25kW). The rest of the energy produced will be available in the network. It will be coupled with the ATEC Wind Energy High Efficiency Centre  (under patent) to produce Energy from the wind also at very low wind speed. The study performed on the site shows that at the site chosen it will be always possible to satisfy the energy requirements from sun and wind. Some of the energy budget will be used to produce hydrogen for other task. The plant will also produce hot water for buildings general services and for the closest activities.

March 2007 - The new design of flexible and large trakers have been optimized by ATEC Robotics. The system supports the new generation concentrated solar module and allows to reach dimension over 150mq for an averaged power up to 50kW. It  will be launched on the market next summer at a very low price.

September 2006
- R&D New concentrated hybrid solar panel have been studied, designed, patented and manufactured by ATEC Robotics.  They are based on a new concept that minimize the cost of the panel increasing lidetime and performance. The first panel have been manufactured in January 2007 and is based on spherical thin mirror of 25cm aluminum coated for a reflectivity always above 95% at regime. No maintenance of panel is required during panel lifetime. This is guaranteed by a glass screen that protect the entire system. Initial satisfactorily performace of 36.5% has been reached already over the average reaults in the field. New optimization are on the way to reduce the complexity of the supporting structure and to increase the operative angle up to 3 degs still maintaining the efficiency at its maximum. The panels will be launched on the market in the summer of 2007. Optics as the rest of the device are produced by ATEC while various solar cells all around the world are under test and verification.

July 2007 - R & D ATEC Robotics signed the R&D contract with ENEA for the study, design and development of the third 36mq solar tracker. The new design derived from the previous one visible in the picture. The 3° tracker will be installed at the beginning in the spring 2007. The ATEC low cost trakers are characterized by high reliability uin terms of quality and continuity of the service and represent  the quality standard all over the world for different kind of modules. Infact the interface studied for the modules are general purpose and can be adapted to different modules.

December 2007 - March2008
- Medium Size Trackers The Phocus#3 tracker has been succesfully installed and filled with modules. In the picture the two trackers Phocus#2 and Phocus#3 designed, manufactured and installed by ATEC Robotics. Phocus#2 (right one) is provided with the high performance ATEC Robotics control system for module caracterization. As a matter of fact Phocus#2 is equivalent to a test bench thanks  to its high level performance in terms of accuracy in pointing and tracking. The feedback to the control system is obtained with the track_cam tunable. The feedback resolution and accuraccy can be set up to 0.002 arcsec. The operating mode of the control system allows the user to switch from high performance operations (like in a laboratory with a tracking stability up to 0.2 arcses) to normal operations where the accuracy is about 10-20 arcsec (selected by user) with a power consumption of less than 80W for a tracker of 50mq.All safety chains are included in the system as for rain, wind and tutrbulence. The trackers have been designed to operate in case of wind up to 120km/h. Usually the wind limit to move in safety positions is fixed  to be 90km/h. The control system and track-cam have been  patented.

Energy for Wind

September 2007
- ATEC Robotics studied and designed the  WEHEC (Wind Energy High Efficiency Center) able to produce electric Energy also at very low speed with very limited impact on the ambient. No maintenance is required. The system will resolve the problem of wind energy production at very low cost, competitive with Sun and other kind of solution. It is not possible to describe or shows the design of the device becaus under patent.

March 2008
- After the succesfully realization and test of the prototype the  patent for the WEHEC (Wind Energy High Efficiency Center) has been presented by ATEC Robotics and the most advanced system.
